Application and purpose

This Privacy Policy applies to the activities of Conexie Pty Ltd (ACN 609 930 029) (Conexie) and is to inform you (You / Your) regarding the use of Your information which is collected during Your use of Conexie’s smartphone application (App) on Your smartphone device (Device) .

The App is designed and built to empower users to report incidents to local authorities for reporting and repair (Services) .

Conexie will not collect or monitor personal information about You without Your consent. The information Conexie collects is what You tell Conexie about Yourself and information about how You use the App and Services, such as personal information You tell Conexie about Yourself (including Your phone number and street address) and using the App and location. Also, if You contact Conexie, Conexie may keep a record of that correspondence. Conexie may also draw upon this information in order to adapt the Services to your needs, to research the effectiveness of Conexie’s network and Services, and to develop new tools for the Sevices. Where possible, Conexie endeavors to limit the collection of Your personal information.

If You do not provide the personal information Conexie may not be able to provide you with the Services.

Location data

You agree and consent to Conexie use of Your location data where applicable. In addition, You consent and agree to Conexie use of location data where Your device is used by a third party. When You use the App and the Service, and send a report, Conexie receives and records information on its server logs from Your mobile platform, including Your location. Conexie treat this data as non-personal information, except where Conexie are required to do otherwise under applicable law. To best manage information such as location data, You may disable the tracking functionalities on Your Device, although the App and the Services will not operate to their full capacity and if You do not provide the location You will not be able to file a report.

Using and disclosing Your personal information

Conexie’s purpose in collecting information about You is to provide You with Services that You request and to operate Conexie’s business efficiently. The circumstances in which Conexie may disclose information about You to another organisation are limited, but include:

when required by law;

  • for marketing purposes when You have given Your consent;
  • to an organisation that is an affiliate of Conexie Pty Ltd or a partner of Conexie (including, for example, local authorities to manage the report you have lodged via the App), either in Australia or overseas;
  • when Conexie believe it necessary to provide You with a service which You have requested, such as contacting You about Your use of the App;
  • to protect Conexie rights, property or personal safety or those of another customer or any member of the public; and
    in the event that the assets and operations of Conexie’s business are transferred to another party as a going concern.

Service providers

Like many businesses, Conexie use a range of service providers to help Conexie maximise the quality and efficiency of Conexie services and Conexie business operations. This means that other individuals and organisations will sometimes have access to personal information held by Conexie and may use it on Conexie’s behalf. Conexie require its service providers to respect the confidentiality of information that they handle on Conexie’s behalf, and not to keep this information any longer than required for the performance of services to Conexie or use it for unauthorised purposes.

International use

Please note that information collected by Conexie may be hosted on computer servers outside of your home country. Therefore, Your information may be processed and stored in a jurisdiction other than Your home country. As a result, depending on the applicable law, foreign governments, courts, or law enforcement or regulatory agencies may be able to obtain disclosure of your information through laws applicable in the relevant jurisdiction. Your use of this site or the App or Services or Your submission of any personal information to Conexie will constitute Your consent to the transfer of your personal information outside of Your home country, which may provide for different data protection rules than in Your country.

However, this does not change any of Conexie’s commitments to safeguard Your privacy and Your personal information.

You can request access to the information Conexie keep about You

If at any time You want to know exactly what personal information Conexie hold about You, You are welcome to request access to Your record. Please contact Conexie as set out below. Conexie will endeavor to make any personal information held by Conexie about You available as soon as practicable following Your request.

If at any time You wish to change personal information that is inaccurate or out of date, please let Conexie know and Conexie will amend Conexie records. If You wish to have Your personal information deleted, please let Conexie know and Conexie will take all reasonable steps to delete it unless Conexie need to keep it for legal reasons.

Storage and security of Your personal information

Conexie endeavor to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information which Conexie hold about You, and to keep this information accurate and up to date where possible.

Your information is stored on secure servers that are protected in controlled facilities. Conexie require Conexie employees and data processors to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by Conexie.

Future changes

Conexie are committed to providing the best customer experience and will continue to evolve to meet Conexie’s customer’s needs. Because of this, from time to time, Conexie policies will be reviewed and may be revised. Conexie reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time and notify You by posting an updated version of the policy on the Conexie website. The amended Privacy Policy will apply whether or not Conexie have given You specific notice of any change. Conexie therefore recommend You check Conexie’s Privacy Policy from time to time.
